A resident of the 100 block of Lidster Avenue reported seeing a mountain lion run through his back yard. According to police, officers chased the mountain lion – which was reportedly the size of a cat – into a canyon before contacting Nevada County Animal Control.



Rosalyn McDowell Yourjones, 44, was arrested on five outstanding warrants and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on suspicion of burglary and theft after attempting to use a credit card to pay a bill at the Main Street Cafe, police said. She is being held without bail.
