— Brian M. Hamilton, 18, of Penn Valley, was arrested at 12:59 a.m. on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale and reckless driving. He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on $7,900 bail. On Spenceville Road, a deputy saw him speeding before Hamilton turned off his headlights and ran a stop sign, Capt. Mike Hanson said, adding that Hamilton was found with 1.5 ounces of marijuana.

— A caller from the 10000 block of Alta Street reported that $5,000 in charges were made to her stolen credit card.


A caller from the 12000 block of Shady Creek Drive, on San Juan Ridge, reported at 3:33 p.m. that four pit bulls were roaming the neighborhood. The caller was referred to Nevada County Animal Control.
