— Brian L. Forkner, 29, of Nevada City was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon and booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on $150,000 bail. The Sheriff’s Office said Forkner threatened to shoot a woman Wednesday night at a home on the 17000 block of Hawkeye Lane.

— Patrick M. Akena, 47, of Grass Valley was arrested at Nevada County Animal Control on suspicion of illegal disposal of a hazardous material and petty theft. He was booked on $8,250 bail. The Sheriff’s Office said an animal control worker reported at 7:58 p.m. hearing someone releasing propane from a tank on the property. Akena was found and arrested. He faces propane-theft charges in four other cases. According to the Sheriff’s Office, he admitted in an earlier case taking propane to get high after he learned about it on the Internet.
