Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

Scott A. Lytle, 37, of Nevada City was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in a negligent manner, damaging a telephone line, and disturbing the peace, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on $10,750 bail.

Lytle is accused of going to a home on Wyatt Earp Road, off Cruzon Grade Road on San Juan Ridge, to serve divorce papers on his wife, and of causing a disturbance, Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Hanson said.

A man there forced him to leave, so Lytle allegedly grabbed a semiautomatic handgun from a vehicle he was traveling in and started shooting at vehicles parked outside the house, according to Hanson.
