Wednesday – 58 calls

for service




8:49 a.m. – A caller on Highway 20 near Empire Street reported a person walking in and out of the roadway. Officers admonished the man about where he was hitch hiking.

9:35 a.m. – A woman on Henderson Street reported finding a loaded syringe. Officers collected the syringe for destruction.

9:46 a.m. – A caller in the 600 block of Sutton Way reported a transient with a cardboard sign sitting in front of the door for several days, refusing to leave. The person was not there when officers arrived, and the caller was advised to call back if the person returns.

10:30 a.m. – A man came into the police lobby to report drug activities at one of his rental properties. Officers made contact and arrested a man on suspicion of drug violations and an outstanding local warrant.

11:36 a.m. – A woman on Chapel Street reported recently moving into a house and frequently hearing an unknown man outside. She asked for extra patrol in the area at night.

11:42 a.m. – A caller on the 1000 block of the Nevada City Highway reported people got their vehicle smogged and drove off without paying. The caller said the people may be living in their vehicle.

12:02 p.m. – A caller from Neal Street said a woman’s electric wheelchair had gone dead and she was stuck in the middle of the street. The wheelchair was pushed out of the roadway.

12:55 p.m. – A man on Candy Lane reported his mother had received a telephone call stating her grandson was going to be put in jail in Barcelona, Spain. The man verified the grandson was at work.

1:49 p.m. – A caller from Dorsey Drive reported a small child, no older than 3, had been left alone. Police found the child.

4:39 p.m. – A caller on Henderson Street reported an unwanted person banging on the door with beer in hand.

6:13 p.m. – A caller from Gracie reported a cat stuck in the engine of a vehicle. The person called back to say the cat got out.

6:32 p.m. – A caller on Pleasant Street reported someone breaking into garages at the graveyards over the past several nights, with nothing missing. The caller believed it was either juveniles or transients sleeping.

10:50 p.m. – A man at the Union Square parking lot reported a vehicle following him around, and someone in the vehicle threw a water jug at him.

8:03 a.m. – A man from the 13000 block of Golden Eagle Way reported his goats had just been attacked by two dogs, but he chased them away.

8:17 a.m. – A woman from the 12000 block of Elm Court reported mail was taken from her mailbox the previous night and was found on the opposite side of the lake with some contents removed. Three $1 stamps had been removed from the envelopes.

8:24 a.m. – A man from the 17000 block of Lake Forest Drive reported hearing six gunshots too close to his residence.

8:36 a.m. – A man reported being assaulted on Helling Way and was going to seek treatment.

9:32 a.m. – A woman from Brewer Road and Annie Drive reported an assault following a road rage incident. She said she tried to pass a brown van, and the male driver forced her to pull over, got out of his car and banged on her hood. He then pulled her sunglasses off her face.

10:37 a.m. – A man from the 12000 block of Lakeshore North wanted to know his rights regarding leaving his dogs in his vehicle with the windows rolled up.

11:02 a.m. – A woman from the 18000 block of Starduster Lane reported her landlord continues to access her home without giving notice, and said she wanted to change the locks. She was advised not to do that without permission.

12:02 p.m. – A woman from Lowell Hill Road reported people shooting guns on a neighboring property.

2:09 p.m. – A woman from the 10000 block of Heron Road reported her neighbor cut a road on her property at an unknown time.

4:34 p.m. – A caller from Chalk Bluff Road reported three people who had been gold panning had not returned on Monday as scheduled.

Thursday

6:58 a.m. – A caller from Bitney Springs Road and Lone Lobo Trail reported a horse in the road.

7:20 a.m. – A woman from the 18000 block of Julisa Court reported a dog had been at her house all night.

7:25 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Providence Mine Road reported skateboarders at the loading dock. They were admonished.

Thursday

12:19 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Nevada City Highway reported a purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
