Grass Valley Police Department

Tuesday

10:42 a.m. – A caller from the 600 block of Sutton Way reported criminal thefts made against them.



11:36 a.m. – A caller from the 800 block of Maltman Drive reported the theft of a rent deposit and a possible fraud. The caller was told is was a civil issue.

12:54 p.m. – A business reported an employee was bit by a dog while making deliveries on the 300 block of Northstar Place.




3:54 p.m. – An officer and street crews closed Bennett Street underneath the Golden Center Freeway to let a logging truck reload after the bundle had shifted.

4:06 p.m. – A person came into the police department with gun ammunition, which was destroyed.

4:18 p.m. – A fender-bender occurred at West Main and Townsend streets between two vehicles with no injuries.

5:07 p.m. – An apartment manager reported an evicted tenant would not leave. When officers arrived, the tenant was gone but later relocated and told to not return to the apartment or risk being arrested for trespassing.

5:29 p.m. – A 911 caller from the 400 block of Lamaque Court hung up. Responding officers found a person who had just extinguished a small kitchen fire and did not need further help.

7:45 p.m. – A caller reported seeing a driver in a convertible flicking cigarette ashes out the window on the Nevada City Highway.

9:18 p.m. – A driver reported a yellow Honda doing about 80 mph on Alta Street and crossing over the center line.

10:21 p.m. – A caller on the 100 block of Colfax Avenue reported a person tried to sell her prescription drugs, and the same person later threatened her friend.

Wednesday

12 a.m. – A caller saw a woman in a nightgown or a hospital gown pushing a shopping cart on Dorsey Drive.

1:18 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Dorsey Drive reported numerous harassing phone calls from an unknown party.

5:44 a.m. – A caller on Morgan Ranch Drive advised there was a sour smell in the area. Police contacted a neighbor who said it was a skunk.

8:48 a.m. – A caller from the 200 block of Sutton Way reported vandalism to a county van.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

Tuesday

2:34 p.m. – A woman from the 10000 block of Carriage Road reported she recalled she had a restraining order against her husband, whom she had allowed to stay at her residence for the past two years. The woman said she wanted her husband removed from her house. She was told that the police were uncomfortable enforcing an order she had disregarded for the past two years.

4:57 p.m. – A woman from the 11000 block of Sierra Circle reported that someone had broken into her shed and stolen five propane tanks and other items.

7:32 p.m. – A woman called from the 13000 block of Hemlock Drive to report that her son had run away.

Wednesday

12:36 a.m. – A caller from McCourtney Road reported a large brown bear in the middle of the road.

Tuesday

12:31 p.m. – A caller from Broad Street reported that a man broke the window of a vehicle, reached in and unlocked the driver’s door, and then drove away with the vehicle.

8:01 p.m. – A woman from the 700 block of Lindley Avenue reported that the windshield of her vehicle was broken while she was shopping.
