Grass Valley Police Department

Monday

3:26 p.m. – A man found a moped with a punched ignition on the 1400 block of Segsworth Way. Officers took a report.



4:16 p.m. – A caller from a business on the 1900 block of Nevada City Highway reported an elderly person with a badly broken ankle. The patient was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

5:37 p.m. – A man from the 300 block of Pleasant Street reported two people tried to assault him, then left in a black Toyota pickup. Officers took a report for battery.




5:50 p.m. – A woman from the 300 block of Sutton Way reported her neighbor was stealing her medications.

10:28 p.m. – A traffic stop at South Auburn and Berryman streets ended with a man’s arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, possessing drugs and an opium pipe. He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.

Tuesday

7:02 a.m. – A caller said two men were smoking marijuana at the bus stop at Church and Neal streets. Responding officers found the men only had a tobacco pipe.

11:54 a.m. – A caller said a man was slumped over the wheel of a Nevada County vehicle on Church Street. Responding officers found the driver was resting and eating his lunch.

1:42 p.m. – A vehicle struck a tree at Ridge Road and Donald Avenue. The CHP took an accident report and the vehicle was towed.

3:05 p.m. – An alleged shoplifter was detained at a store on Nevada City Highway. Officers cited and released the person.

5:55 p.m. – A woman from a business in the 1000 block of Sutton Way said she had locked herself into the bathroom to get away from another woman in the store who was threatening her. The woman allegedly making threats was gone when officers arrived, and they took a report for criminal threats.

7:16 p.m. – An alleged shoplifter was in custody at a store on Nevada City Highway. Officers cited and released the person.

10:03 a.m. – A vehicle stop on East Main Street ended with a man being booked on suspicion of driving under the influence and his passenger on suspicion of being drunk in public.

Wednesday

4:55 a.m. – A caller from the 100 block of Harris Street reported a wallet and cell phone were stolen from a locked vehicle overnight. Responding officers took a report for petty theft.

10:53 a.m. – A shoplifter was caught on tape at a store on the 1100 block of Sutton Way. Officers took a report.

Tuesday

9:45 a.m. – A caller from the 14000 block of Rough and Ready Highway reported having new suspect information about a burglary that happened the night before.

11:40 a.m. – Officers arrested a 52-year-old woman on a local warrant on the 13000 block of Highway 49 and booked her into Nevada County jail. Officers also arrested a 56-year-old man at the same location on a no-bail Placer County warrant.

12:26 p.m. – A woman from the 15000 block of Cascade Loop reported someone had fraudulently used her credit card to order an Apple computer.

2:56 p.m. – A woman from the 13000 block of McCourtney Road reported she received threats while she was house-sitting at a ranch. The owners were out of the country.

4:53 p.m. – A caller from the 10000 block of Melody Road reported someone had opened a telephone account in the caller’s name.

5:32 p.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of Torrey Pines Drive reported someone had broken into the house and ransacked it.

8:00 p.m. – Officers arrested a 23-year-old man on the 12000 block of Pine Cone Circle on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and booked him into jail.

8:02 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of High Sierra Way reported a burglary at the residence.

8:33 p.m. – Officers arrested a 36-year-old man on Rough and Ready Highway on the suspicion of driving on a suspended license and being under the influence of alcohol and booked him into jail.

Wednesday

1:36 a.m. – Officers cited and released an 18-year-old man at the intersection of Highway 49 and Banner Mountain overcrossing for driving on a suspended license.

Tuesday

12:24 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Zion Street reported a power line was down in front of the residence. The caller had notified Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

2:57 p.m. – Officers arrested a 20-year-old man on Coyote Street on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and booked him into jail.
