Grass Valley Police Department

Sunday

1:30 p.m. – A caller from a bar on Mill Street reported a man was taking cups out of the trash and throwing them all over the street. The man also grabbed popcorn from a vender. Police advised the man to leave the area.



2:42 p.m. – A caller reported a rock was thrown at a vehicle on the 200 block of Sutton Way. Police took a report for vandalism.

2:44 p.m. – A caller from a business on the 100 block of Olympia Park Road reported a man known for inhaling paint fumes just tried to buy paint. A patrol officer was advised.




4:57 p.m. – A caller from the 100 block of South Auburn Street reported a woman wearing a hard hat was sitting outside a business and drinking alcohol. Police cited the 44-year-old woman on suspicion of having an open container of alcohol.

10:37 p.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Marshall Street reported a loud party at a house on the block. Police contacted the people at the party and advised them to keep it down.

Monday

12:45 a.m. – A caller from a store on the 1000 block of Sutton Way reported a man known for huffing paint fumes was in the store. The man left before police arrived. Police advised the caller to get a restraining order.

1:22 a.m. – Police stopped a vehicle on Rhode Island Street and Brighton Street and arrested a 19-year-old on suspicion of drunken driving.

6:02 a.m. – A caller from a business on the 900 block of Sutton Way reported a person was in a sleeping bag by a shed. Police contacted a man and advised him to move on.

9:34 a.m. – A caller from the 400 block of Marshall Street reported hearing a fight and a gun shot. Police contacted people in a residence on the 400 block of Marshall Street and determined no shots were fired, and two juveniles had been “rough housing.” No arrests were made.

Sunday

10:52 a.m. – A caller from the 18000 block of Fair Oaks Drive reported activities happening in a residence involving “young males who are wearing the same color clothes.” A deputy contacted the caller.

12:50 p.m. – A caller from the 18000 block of Lake Forest Drive reported a burglary occurred sometime since 11 a.m. the previous day. A deputy took a report for attempted burglary.

1:14 p.m. – A caller reported several eggs were thrown at a car on Burma Road at Brunswick Road. Officers interviewed a juvenile and released the juvenile to parents.

5:19 p.m. – A woman called from the 15000 block of Perimeter Road to report her residence was broken into and a Sony PlayStation and movies were taken.

10:26 p.m. – A woman called from the 10000 block of Melody Road to report a man was yelling on Highway 20 and when he was asked to be quiet, he went onto the caller’s property and was yelling at the caller and her boyfriend. A deputy arrested the man on suspicion of public drunkenness and violation of parole.

Monday

2:13 a.m. – A caller reported a juvenile was assaulted on North Bloomfiled Road. A deputy took a report.

6:16 a.m. – A caller from a golf course on the 24000 block of Darkhorse Drive reported theft of weed eaters, a chain saw and two leaf blowers. A deputy took a report for theft.

6:40 a.m. – A woman called from the 11000 block of Colfax Highway to report a man wearing a bright yellow bandana and a lime green jacket tried to get into her house. A deputy took a report.

7:42 a.m. – A woman called from the 23000 block of Woodhaven Place to report finding several sexually suggestive letters on her porch for her 13-year-old daughter. Lake of the Pines security would have extra patrol in the area.

9:39 a.m. – A caller from the 13000 block of Boulder Street reported theft. A deputy took a report for grand theft.

Nevada City Police Department

Sunday

11:39 a.m. – Police arrested a 43-year-old woman on Boulder Street and Park Avenue on suspicion of drunken driving, driving on a suspended license, hit and run and violation of probation.

Fire Calls

Sunday

11:54 a.m. – The fire department advised law enforcement that firefighters would be burning about three acres of debris piles in the area of Highway 20 and Omega Road.

4:31 p.m. – A caller from the 15000 block of Black Bear Lane reported a small vegetation fire below a residence. The fire department was notified, but canceled its response because the fire was extinguished prior to their arrival.

5:26 p.m. – Calfire firefighters extinguished a half-acre fire on the 9000 block of Deer Hollow Trail at Loma Rica.
