Grass Valley Police Department

Wednesday

12:37 p.m. – A caller reported a vehicle was going the wrong direction on an offramp at Highway 49 at Brunswick Road. The female driver was attempting to turn around and go the right direction. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.



1:27 p.m. – A caller reported a dog was locked inside a light blue 1992 Subaru Legacy for about five hours. It was very hot outside. An Animal Control officer responded and removed the dog.

2:51 p.m. – A caller from West McKnight Way reported a dog was in a brown Nissan Sentra for at least 15 minutes. A man came out of the store, looked at the dog and said the dog was fine. The man went back into the store. An Animal Control officer was advised.




4:56 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block of Northstar Place reported a woman was locked out of her residence, and her 1-year-old daughter was inside the residence alone. Police contacted the resident and forced entry into the home.

8:02 p.m. – A caller from the 300 block off Northstar Place reported her neighbor has been harassing her. The caller said she took a picture of the neighbor’s dog defecating on the caller’s garden.

9:09 p.m. – A caller from Bennett Street reported two men were driving around the neighborhood selling meat. An officer was advised.

11:33 p.m. – Police stopped a vehicle on McCourtney Road and arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving.

Thursday

12:08 a.m. – Police arrested a 45-year-old man on South Auburn Street on suspicion of public drunkenness.

Wednesday

9:09 a.m. – A caller from the 16000 block of Tina Court reported a boat stereo was stolen while the boat was parked at a storage park. A deputy took a report.

9:40 a.m. – A caller from the 14000 block of West Van Tam Way reported the theft of dredging equipment.

2:03 p.m. – A caller from the 12000 block of Greenhorn Road reported a tree was across the road.

2:59 p.m. – A woman from the 11000 block of Cement Hill Road reported a man named John called her and asked for her social security number to renew her local newspaper subscription.

5:26 p.m. – A caller from the bridge at the South Fork Yuba River reported a dog was locked in a crate in the back of a truck. The dog appeared dehydrated and “in trouble.”

6:30 p.m. – A caller from the 11000 block of Squirrel Creek Road reported a girl was acting “odd” and she may have been a runaway. A deputy arrested the juvenile on suspicion of truancy.

7:21 p.m. – A caller from a school on the 11000 block of Highway 174 reported a grandmother and a father were fighting over a child custody issue. The people were separated.

11:37 p.m. – A caller reported no one was at a care home on the 10000 block of Cone Tree Trail to supervise the residents. The caller’s brother walked away and was located in Auburn by law enforcement. Police contacted Adult Protective Services, which would follow up the next morning.

Thursday

5:35 a.m. – A caller from Boulder Street reported a white Honda crashed into a wall. The male driver was trying to leave. Police took a report and the car was towed.
