Pilots ready for wildfire season

California Fire’s Air Attack 230, stationed at Nevada County Airport, flies in and out of the airport for pilot training. The Grass Valley Air Attack Base responds to an average of 450 calls per year. The base’s immediate response area spans to the Nevada stateline to the east, Butte and Plumas counties to the north and Amador County to the south.
