PG&E helps fund business conference

A public conference addressing the state of the economy will get financial help from Pacific Gas and Electric Co.

The Nevada County Economic Resource Council Foundation recently received a $4,000 PG&E Local Economic Development Grant to defray costs of its upcoming Economic Forecast Conference. It’s set for early June.

The half-day event will be open to the public and will hold talks by federal, state and local representatives.

PG&E’s annual grant program is designed to help nonprofit groups trying to increase jobs in primary businesses or those that sell their goods and services outside of the community and bring money back into the local economy.

ERC’s mission is to provide education and training to local businesses and economic data for the public.
