PG&E crews working to identify cause of power outages in Nevada City

Pacific Gas and Electric Company crews are working to identify the cause of several power outages over the last two weeks in the Nevada City area. The outages have affected customers in the area of Ridge Road, Cement Hill and Newtown Road.

Crews replaced multiple transformers and reinsulated wire on Wednesday, but another outage occurred, resulting in the need for further investigation.

“We understand any time there is a disruption in service it is an inconvenience to our customers. Our crews are continuously working to identify and repair the problem causing these outages. We appreciate our customers’ understanding and want them to know we are working toward a solution as soon as possible,” said Clay Schmidt, manager of PG&E’s Sierra Division.

Crew will continue to conduct patrols, including foot patrols of the lines, in the area until the cause is identified.
