Pet Adoptathon slated May 5

Pet Adoptathon 2002 will noon to 4 p.m. May 5 at the future home of the AnimalSave Pet Adoption Center on Rough and Ready Highway, one mile from downtown Grass Valley and next to Grass Valley Veterinary hospital.



Lots of cats and dogs will be available for adoption. The event will feature live music by the local group Jukolin. Refreshments will be available for people and pets.




From noon to 2 p.m., KNCO disc jockey Mike Nickels will be locked in a kennel until $500 in donations are raised. Proceeds will benefit AnimalSave’s no-kill shelter.

The Pet Adoptathon 2002 is sponsored by the Animal Clinic at Lake of the Pines, Animal Clinic of Penn Valley, Best Friends Animal Clinic, Brighton Greens Veterinary Hospital, Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital, The Gray Goose, Incredible Pets, Invisible Fence of the Foothills, KNCO Newstalk 830 and Pine Creek Veterinary Clinic.
