Penn Valley Union School District to hold special meeting

The Penn Valley Union School District board of trustees will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the district office conference room on the 14000 block of Pleasant Valley Road in Penn Valley.

The board will consider teacher Sharon Corey’s request to retire with an incentive package of close to $9,000. Discussion items on the agenda will include board protocol development, and an update from the 2013-14 school services budget workshop.

In closed session, the board will discuss labor negotiations with the Pleasant Valley Classified Association and Pleasant Valley Teachers Association.

Consolidated Fire oversight committee meets Wednesday

Nevada County Consolidated Fire District’s Citizens Oversight Committee will meet in special session 4 p.m. Wednesday at Station 84, 10135 Coyote St., Nevada City.

The committee is slated to review the 2013-14 Grand Jury Report on Consolidated Fire District, as well as review and discuss the district’s 2014/15 preliminary budget.
