Penn Valley fire board to award bids for roof projects

The Penn Valley Fire Protection District Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at Station No. 43, 10513 Spenceville Road.

The board is expected to award bids for the repair and re-roofing of several buildings. There will be a public hearing on a Fire Suppression Benefit Assessment Fee, as well as a second reading and adoption of an ordinance to establish fees for cost recovery of emergency response to nonresidents.

The board also will review correspondence regarding the issue of Certificates of Deposit. More than $7,000 was transferred into the district’s account for lost interest. Nevada County wants the district to settle for about $1,400.
