Peace bus will head to San Francisco

Peace Center of Nevada County hosts a Peace Bus to San Francisco on March 19 for an International Day of Solidarity on the second anniversary of the “Shock & Awe” invasion of Iraq. The bus will leave the Rood Center in Nevada City at 7:30 a.m. and return around 7 p.m. The cost is $30 per seat. FREED Center hosts disability workshop

FREED Center for Independent Living is presenting a free workshop for persons with disabilities called “Choosing to Live Well with a Disability.”



This multiple part workshop than is scheduled on various from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays through June 23. Learn to manage your health care, communicate your needs clearly, obtain information about preventing secondary health conditions, and advocate for your needs. Even when you have an ongoing or chronic health problem, you can still be healthy, and the healthier you are, the more you are able to do.
