Grass Valley city officials hope to build new sidewalk and parking spaces at historic Memorial Park.

City engineers are calling for bids to install about 180 feet of new sidewalk and 11 parking spaces at the park on Grass Valley’s eastern edge. The project’s estimated cost is $24,000.

Bids are due at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9.

Work on the project should begin in mid-September and is expected to wrap up before winter, said City Public Works Director Tim Kiser.
