One-Stop Business Center holds Tahoe regional job fair
The One-Stop Business & Career Center and the Sierra Human Resources Association, in partnership with the Truckee Donner Chamber of Commerce, North Lake Tahoe Chamber, North Tahoe Business Association, Golden Sierra, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the Lake Tahoe Sustainability Collaborative, is sponsoring the second Annual Tahoe-Regional Job Fair from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the North Tahoe Event Center at 8318 North Lake Blvd. in Kings Beach.
The goal of this collaborative effort is to showcase desirable businesses to work with, that offer both seasonal and year-round employment by attracting a sizeable number of highly qualified applicants. So far over 30 organizations have registered, including the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, A.I.M. Associates, Inc., Northstar California, Tahoe Donner Association, Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Nevada and Placer County, Clear Capital, Granite Peak Management, Boreal Mountain, Raley’s, Wild Cherries Coffeehouse, General Improvement District, Tahoe Tech Group, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Tahoe Biltmore, Lancaster Burns Construction and Granite Peak Management.
Job seekers will be able to attend a free pre-fair workshop on “How To Maximize Your Job Fair Experience,” to be held at two locations, from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Nevada County Joseph Center’s Donner Room located at 10075 Levon Ave. in Truckee, and 2-4 p.m. at Community House, 265 Bear St., in Kings Beach.
Regional employers are invited to register and reserve their space. The North Tahoe Event Center will provide Internet access and electrical outlets and a six-foot skirted table with seating for two recruiters or representatives.
The Sierra Human Resources Association is a non-profit community organization founded in 2005 that provides human resources practitioners, managers and business owners the opportunity to network and discuss management, employment and business issues that affect employees and our livelihood. The One-Stop Business & Career Center is a non-profit organization that assists job seekers with career readiness and provides HR support to businesses in the community.
