Old, rare books sold

Friends of the Nevada County Libraries will hold its monthly book sale May 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the basement of the Nevada City Doris Foley Historical Research Library, 211 N. Pine St.

Old and rare books, as well as a selection of all types of books, will be on sale.

All proceeds from the monthly sale are used by the county libraries for special programs, special book purchases and other unfunded needs.

Donations of books in good repair can be left at any of the three county libraries during business hours. Donated books also may be deposited at Longs Drugs on Sutton Way in Grass Valley in marked containers inside the main entrance and in marked containers at the north entrance to the Raley’s store in Pine Creek Center.

Due to lack of space, magazines, including National Geographic; out-of-date textbooks or incomplete sets of books can no longer be accepted.
