Officers honored for service to Scouts

Grass Valley Police Capt. Dave Remillard and Nevada County Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Davenport have been honored for their service to scouting and their community.

For his service as the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 856, Remillard received the 2006 Silver Beaver Award, the highest award for adult volunteers.

“It was an honor,” Remillard said Friday.

Davenport received the same award for his service as coordinator of the Explorer Post, which he has done for more than 20 years.

The awards were presented by the Golden Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America, at their annual leader recognition held Feb. 17 in Sacramento.
