NSJ firefighters plan breakfast benefit

The North San Juan Fire Auxiliary will host its 41st annual Mother’s Day Scotch Broom Breakfast fund-raiser Sunday at the fire station, at Reservoir and Cherokee streets.

Breakfast consists of all-you-can-eat pancakes, ham, eggs, coffee and juices, all for $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Hours are 8 a.m. to noon. This year’s goal is to fund new wildland firefighting safety equipment for the firefighters.

A queen-size handmade quilt will be raffled off, along with many other items, and a complimentary gift will be given to every mother attending. Vegetable and garden plants, shirts, cookbooks, North San Juan history books and other items will also be for sale, with all proceeds funding firefighting equipment needs.
