North Star DeMolay Chapter supports children in need

At an Oct. 17 presentation, the members of North Star Chapter DeMolay presented a check for $1,450 to the Food Bank of Nevada County to support the Project HOPE initiative that provides healthy food to school children. Monies were raised by the DeMolay Chapter from a miniature golf tournament and other work projects that resulted in donations. The school snack program has provided more than 7,000 snacks to children in a single week. The DeMolay donation will greatly assist in supporting this program, especially during economic times that challenge overall contributions to the Food Bank.

DeMolay is a youth organization that develops personal and leadership skills for young men between the ages of 12 and 20.
