A North San Juan man remains in custody in county jail after he allegedly rammed his wife’s vehicle with his motorcycle in a domestic dispute Tuesday night.

Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene of a disturbance near the senior center in North San Juan at about 10:30 p.m., said Sheriff’s Capt. Shannan Moon.

According to dispatch reports, callers reported a “ruckus” with a man acting “crazy.”

The man, identified as Daniel William Gurney, 47, allegedly was ramming his motorcycle into a vehicle occupied by a woman, Moon said.

When deputies arrived, the man was gone, she added,

“There was lots of damage to the vehicle,” Moon said. “There were scratches and dents on the driver’s side and roof, and all the tires had been flattened.”

The victim allegedly said she had gotten into an argument with her husband at a nearby bar, and the argument continued after they left.

After Gurney allegedly began ramming the vehicle, the woman said she tried to call 911, but her husband allegedly took her phone and threw it.

A be-on-the-lookout advisory was issued, and Gurney eventually was located and arrested without incident at just after midnight, according to dispatch reports.

He was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse, false imprisonment, vandalism and damaging a phone. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
