NID slates 3 pipeline workshops

Three workshops about a controversial proposed water pipeline project will be held this week at Nevada Irrigation District headquarters.

From 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, NID officials and consultants will discuss and seek public input on proposed routes for a 42-inch diameter steel pipeline to carry water that now flows through the Lower Cascade Canal.

The workshops will work their way downhill: The first workshop is aimed at residents in the highest-elevation area of the proposed pipeline and the subsequent two workshops will discuss progressively lower elevation areas.

The open-house-style workshops will be held at NID’s Grass Valley headquarters at 1036 W. Main St.
