NH 2020 ag group meets today

The Natural Heritage 2020 Agricultural Working Group plans to meet today at 6 p.m. in Grass Valley to discuss issues affecting agriculture with fire officials from the county and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

The meeting will be held in the Nevada Irrigation District boardroom, 1036 W. Main St. Eric Carr of CDF, Charlie Jakobs, county fire prevention planner, and Nevada County Consolidated Fire Department’s Tim Fike are slated to talk about the impact of fire-safety regulations, enforcement and assessments on agricultural operations.



The group’s final report and presentation to the Community Advisory Committee is due Feb. 28.
