New group aims to help nonprofits find funding

A group has formed to help nonprofits find funding and resources in Nevada County.

Called the Nevada County Funders Network, the coalition includes Nevada County First Five, Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation, United Way and Nevada County Health and Human Services.

“As a funding agency, it is critical to work with other funders to explore the best ways to support our Nevada County nonprofits,” said Executive Director of United Way Megan Timpany in a press release.

The group will allow nonprofits to share information about funding priorities, discuss grant writing and jointly plan initiatives to help the volunteer sector organizations in Nevada County.

The group will meet quarterly and offer workshops on a variety of topics.
