New Friends Center offers classes for all

The John Woolman School, closed since Oct. 19, has reopened as the Sierra Friends Center. The center, operated by the Religious Society of Friends, will be offering multi-age courses this spring.

Starting the first week of February, the center will offer courses in astronomy, science and nature, taught by Alan Stahler. Courses in ceramics and the art of seeing will be taught by Ted Menmuir.

The center will also be working on a program for juniors in high school, and will be developing the site as a living model for sustainability.

The site is available for conferences, groups, retreats and workshops. For more information, call Sierra Friends Center at 273-3183.
