Nevada County Tea Party receives portion of national donation

Nevada County Tea Party Patriots have received an infusion of $10,000 from the recent $1 million anonymous donation to the national movement.

“That all has to be spent on getting the vote out,” said Chicago Park resident Stan Meckler, leader of the local organization and father of Mark Meckler, co-founder and national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots. “We also have to try to show it did the job of increasing the vote.”

The group is using the funding for radio and print advertisements and for billboards on property donated by Tea Party Patriot members, Meckler said.

“We honestly don’t care who you vote for because we’re nonpartisan,” Meckler added.
