Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies find teen missing from Burney

A teenager who left a church event about a week-and-a-half-ago in Burney and prompted a missing person alert has been found in Auburn by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, according to the Redding Record Searchlight.

Nevada County Sheriff’s deputies found Angelina Rodriguez, 13, at a home in Auburn and informed local authorities Saturday afternoon, said Shasta County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lillibridge.

She had walked away from a church event Sept. 28 and was believed to be a runaway, he said.

She was found at a home in Auburn safe and reunited with her family, Lillibridge said.

Deputies intend to speak with her and may pursue charges against anyone who helped her abscond or hid her from her family, he said.
