Nevada County Real estate agents give back

Submitted to The Union

The Intero Real Estate Services Foundation presented $2,500 this week to KARE Crisis Nursery, a nonprofit that provides 24-hour respite care for the small children of families experiencing stressful situations.

The foundation kicked off the giving season with two other grants awarded to The Boys & Girls Club and The Friendship Club for a total of $6,100. Another $11,500 in grants are also earmarked for local nonprofits benefiting children in the community by the end of the year, bringing their total raised to date to more than $65,000.

According to a news release, every real estate agent who is a part of Nevada County's Intero Real Estate Services gives a portion of their commissions earned to the Intero foundation.

Local Intero Real Estate offices are also holding their third annual Warm Coat Drive and are accepting donated jackets, hats, scarves, mittens, etc. and/or nonperishable food items in any of their four offices.

Pick-ups are also available.
