Nevada City Police Department to present survey results at forum Wednesday

The Nevada City Police Department will host a public forum today to discuss the results of a recent community survey.

The meeting, which will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Council Chamber of City Hall, will also be an opportunity for residents to address any additional concerns.

The assessment was first distributed in the beginning of December to a target group of individuals in the community. It is part of an effort by the local law enforcement agents to create a routine strategic plan to provide better policing service, officials said.

The survey incorporated feedback from members of the police department, city employees, merchants, as well as residents.

Nevada City Police Chief Tim Foley told The Union in a previous story that he will present the findings in front of the city council after compiling the results into a formal report.
