Nevada City Adult Soapbox Derby

The slinky dog soapbox wasn’t the only sight to see Sunday.

About 30 participants drove in the sixth annual Nevada City Adult Soapbox Derby, which took place from noon to 6 p.m.

The race featured two types of vehicles: race cars and art cars. Money raised through food and drink sales and sponsorships pay for improvements to Pioneer Park, located at 421 Nimrod St., Nevada City. The event was free for onlookers to attend. See more photos on page A6.
