NC council passes resolution backing foes of library privatization

Nevada City councilmembers unanimously approved a resolution last night supporting groups against library privatization.

The resolution that came before the council at Wednesday’s meeting was a softened version of one presented in the original agenda packet.

Rather than charging the county board of supervisors to “prove once and again that all of us are capable of finding a much better way than privatization,” the revised resolution promises the city will “support our citizens and the citizen committee reports which find that privatization is not the solution for our library system.”
