Narcotics officers raid two county properties

Nevada County narcotics officers searched two properties Tuesday after residents were suspected of growing marijuana gardens. In both searches, the property owners possessed medicinal marijuana recommendations but had more than the recommendations allowed.

The first search was conducted on Gamble Court, off Rex Reservoir Road, at about 10 a.m. The second took place around 3 p.m. on the 22000 block of Highway 20, east of Nevada City.

In both searches, the property owners complied with authorities to reduce the amount of marijuana they had according to the prescription amount. No one was arrested, authorities said, and charges will not be filed.

In general, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office allows prescription holders to have up to two pounds of medicinal marijuana per person.
