MY TOP TEN: Diane and Ben Rohrbach

What are the Top 10 things – good and bad – about Grass Valley? We posed that question to Grass Valley resident Diane Rohrbach and her son, Ben Rohrbach, a Eugene, Ore., man who’s in town visiting his mom.

1. “It’s quieter. I’m from a noisy college town,” Ben said.

2. “It’s more conservative,” Ben said.

3. “It seems more blue-collar,” Ben said.

4. “Serene,” Diane said.

5. “The bus system’s OK. I think it should run all week, and on Sunday, at least until 7 p.m.,” Ben said.

6. “I guess the snowboarding’s good up here, from what I’m hearing,” Ben said.

7. “There’s a lot of speeding traffic. It’s just dangerous. There’s a lot of little kids around,” Ben said.

8. “They need more theaters,” Ben said. “Or a mall.”

9. “No way! Then we’d get all the crazy people up from Sacramento. I like it because there isn’t a mall,” Diane said.

10. “I don’t know. I just love it here,” Diane said.
