Mumbo Gumbo appearing in Georgetown

Mumbo Gumbo will appear Sunday at the IOOF Hall in Georgetown for Music on the Divide’s second concert of the 2010-11 season.

The New Orleans-flavored septet blends many genres to create its sound, a spicy, danceable blend of Gulf Coast musical influences including soul, Zydeco, ballad and boogie.

Mumbo Gumbo has eight albums to its credit and has played its music on the TV hit show “Northern Exposure” and in the movie “Her Minor Thing,” in which the band appears on screen.

Season memberships are still available, but those who wish to come on a one-time basis can buy tickets at the door: $15 for adults, $5 for children younger than 18.
