More snow on the way

More snow showers are expected in Grass Valley tonight, according to the National Weather Service Forecast Office. The spell, brought by a powerful Pacific Storm moving ashore, is expected to leave an inch of snow on the ground.

Tomorrow will mostly be cloudy, with a possibility of rain. There’s a chance of snow showers again on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The weekend will be cloudy for the most part, the forecast said.

“The Pacific storm that’s brought rain today has colder air following it,” said Harry Stockman, president and publisher of, late Sunday late afternoon. “That may drop the snow levels Monday night to 2,500 feet. There’s a possibility of snow in our area after midnight.”

The wind advisory predicted winds at 20 and 30 miles per hour, and gusts around 40 mph, for Sunday. It was expected to remain windy throughout Sunday night. Drivers were advised to use extra caution, as well as to secure loose objects.
