Three southern Nevada County women have launched a business that is popularizing a health food prized for fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.

Rowena Banks, Mahshid Mirzadeh and Tami Smith are partners in Flax SuperSnax. Fans made them popular at Cornish Christmas last year. Banks and Mizradah use the kitchen at Miners Foundry Cultural Center to cook up their creation, flavored with garlic, Mediterranean spices, cinnamon and chocolate.
