Mirhadi returns to The Union

David Mirhadi has joined The Union as a staff writer.

Mirhadi, 34, is an award-winning journalist with 13 years of daily newspaper experience.

He most recently was the city editor of the Nevada Appeal in Carson City. Mirhadi also has worked as an editor for the Casper Star-Tribune and as a reporter for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, The Stockton Record and the Napa Valley Register, among other publications.



Mirhadi also was a staff writer at The Union from 2001 to 2005.

“David knows the area and is a seasoned journalist,” said Editor Jeff Pelline. “He also is an exceptional writer and a team player.”




Mirhadi has won awards from the California Newspaper Publishers Association for feature writing and investigative and enterprise reporting.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Fresno State University.
