Memorial service set for late city clerk Nellie Martin

There will be a memorial service for former Grass Valley city clerk Nellie Martin — who died Nov. 26, 2014 — at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21.

The service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 236 South Church St., Grass Valley.

Nellie was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Wing River Township, Minnesota.



She moved to Grass Valley in November 1944, where she spent the rest of her life with her husband and children.

She served the city of Grass Valley as city clerk from 1964 to 1984 when she retired.




Nellie moved to Missouri in 2010 with her daughter, then to Indiana in 2012 with her son.

She spent the remainder of her life in Indiana.

Any memorial contributions may be made to Hospice or United Methodist Church in memory of Nellie Martin.
