Meeting to consider bus service changes

Nevada County’s Transit Services Commission will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m., May 17, in the Nevada City Council Chambers, 317 Broad St., to receive input on the Gold Country Stage service modifications proposed to be implemented on Sept. 5.

Service changes under consideration include:

• Expansion of weekday and Saturday service hours on Route 1 (Nevada City), Route 2 (Ridge Road), Route 3 (Grass Valley Loop), Route 4 (Brunswick Basin) and Route 11 (Squirrel Creek Loop).



• Expansion of weekday morning and evening service on Route 1, with service beginning at 6 a.m. and continuing until 10 p.m.

• Elimination of Route 1 service to the HEW building on Willow Valley Road.




• Rerouting of Route 1 via Joerschke Drive and Dorsey Drive.

• Elimination of the last inbound weekly trip on Route 6 (Penn Valley).

• Initiation of a five-day-a-week service on Route 10 (North San Juan) and Route 12 (Colfax).
