McKnight Chevron vandalized

A juvenile was taken into custody Wednesday after reportedly throwing a baseball-sized rock through a window of a McKnight Avenue Chevron in the early morning, damaging equipment inside the business.

Employees at the station in the 100 block of East McKnight Street said a 14-year-old boy threw the rock at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The window had been replaced by a plywood plank that afternoon. The unarmed juvenile apparently tossed beer bottles on the floor, smashed an eyeglass stand, broke a computer and damaged coffee machines, employees said.

The store was closed at the time of the break-in.

According to Grass Valley Police Department logs, the juvenile was taken into custody after the incident.

No further information was released by the Grass Valley Police Department.
