McClintock to guest on ‘Cannabis Crusades’

Congressman Tom McClintock guests on this month’s edition of KVMR’s (89.5 FM) award-winning show, the “Cannabis Crusades”. The show will air at noon today. McClintock will be discussing the Rohrbacker/Farr Amendment that would cut off funds to the Drug Enforcement Agency, ending decades of federal raids on the 23 states that have already passed medical marijuana laws.

McClintock was a sponsor of the bill that is now making its way through the Senate. President Obama would have to sign the measure before it would become law.

McClintock’s conservative views would seem to be at odds with liberalizing marijuana laws, but he believes the government has no business telling us what we can and cannot put into our bodies. He also believes that states have the right to chart their own course on issues not specifically given to the federal government in the Constitution.

Congressman Doug LaMalfa declined to appear on the show and did not support the Rohrbacker/Farr amendment.
