Man recovering from Hwy. 20 accident injuries

A 21-year-old Grass Valley man injured in a collision with a large flatbed truck is recovering from his injuries, a hospital official said Thursday.

Jacob Kreamer was flown to Sutter Roseville Medical Center with internal trauma, a broken left ankle and head lacerations Tuesday morning. He has been treated and released, hospital representative Robin Montgomery said Thursday.

Kreamer, driving his full-sized 2004 Ford F250 truck on Pleasant Valley Road was reportedly broadsided by an eastbound flatbed truck carrying lumber at the intersection of Highway 20 at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday.

Due to a power outage, the traffic light at the intersection was reportedly not operating. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the flatbed truck, Raul Vera, 48, of Woodland, failed to treat the intersection as a four-way stop.

CHP representative Scott Bell said the accident is still under investigation.
