Man charged for attacking his mother

Prosecutors have filed charges against a man who allegedly attacked his mother with a stick and a rock.

Christopher Grabinski, 28, of Grass Valley, is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, threatening a crime and burglary. He is scheduled to enter a plea to the counts Thursday.

The alleged attack occurred March 28 after Grabinski came to his mother’s home on the 1700 block of East Main Street and the two got into an argument, said Grass Valley Police Capt. Dave Remillard.

The mother called police at 12:57 p.m. to say Grabinski was breaking the door of her home down and was armed with a rock and a stick.

He allegedly threw the rock through a large glass window, injuring his mother, Remillard said. Grabinski then reportedly walked into the home and grabbed the woman. She was able to escape but suffered several injuries, including cuts caused by the broken glass.
