Local women honored for smoke-free parks, trails effort in Nevada CIty

Three local women were recognized by the California Clean Air Project (C-CAP) for four years of research and lobbying that led the Nevada City Council to pass a smoke-free parks, trails and city-owned property ordinance earlier this year.

Tina Skrukrud, Lynn Skrukrud, and Elin Honea were honored with a Community Leadership Award, and members of the Nevada City Council also received C-CAP recognition at their March 24 meeting for passing the ordinance.

C-CAP is a division of Sacramento-based ETR Associates, a non-profit organization promoting health and wellness.
