Local Red Cross needs volunteers

If you’re the kind of person who readily offers a helping hand to someone in need, you might consider contacting the western Nevada County branch of The American Red Cross.

“We’re running very short of new disaster response volunteers and would welcome anyone who’s interested to help,” said Beverly Parr, a longtime local Red Cross volunteer.

The Three Rivers chapter of the Red Cross in Yuba City offers disaster training classes and safety classes every weekend and some weeknights, Parr said.

“We want people to know that the Red Cross in this area is still alive and well,” Parr said. “We have members who are available for emergency relief.”

Those interested in volunteering with the local Red Cross, can call 272-3265.
