Local museums in spotlight

May is California Museum Month.

To celebrate, five museums in Grass Valley and Nevada City are opening their doors for free on Saturday. They include the Grass Valley Museum and North Star Powerhouse, Mining and Pelton Wheel Museum, both in Grass Valley.

In Nevada City, Firehouse No. 1 Museum, Imaginarium of Nevada County and the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum will be open.
