Local fire units quash vegetation fire on Litton Trail

Local fire units contained a small vegetation fire on the Litton Trail near Hughes Road and East Main Street in Nevada County Thursday.

The fire was reported around 3:15 p.m. and is said to be covering half an acre of vegetation on the trail behind the Nevada County Golf Course.

Six fire engines reported to the blaze, with fire units from Nevada County Consolidated, Nevada City, and Cal Fire containing the fire around 4:35 p.m. Thursday

Downed power lines were found on scene, though the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
