Pats get the ball back and a first down after a series of plays bringing them across the Miners’ 45. Under a minute left.

NU’s Nielsen has two rushing TD’s and one receiving score in the game.

Nielsen punches it in for a one yard TD. Extra point is good.

Nevada Union 35, Pioneer 6.

3:35 left in the game, Miners are inches away from the goal line.

Nielsen gets a five yard gain within the 10 yard line. INJURY TIMEOUT.

4:20 remains in the third quarter. Nielsen runs it up to the 26 yard line.

Miners intercept a deep pass from the Pats. NU takes over. Nielsen runs it up to the 48 on a short run. 2nd down.

Miners on a third down and 25. 5:30 left in the third. Schnitzius throws a deep pass. INCOMPLETE. Miners to punt. Pats take over at their own 35.

10 seconds to go, with the Pats at their own 49. Delay of game called on Pioneer for a 5 yard penalty.

Pats called for illegal participation for a 15 yard penalty from the previous spot driving them back to their own 40.

Pioneer takes a timeout. Comes back with a deep pass completed at the Miners’ 15 yard line. PENALTY

Pats take over at their own 45. Pioneers get a run up to the 50, 2nd down.

On third and long, Schnitzius throws a deep incomplete pass. NU to punt with less than a minute left.

Owen Dal Bon at qb for the Miners to start the drive for a short gain. Schnitzius back in and gets sacked for a loss of seven yards. 2nd down.

Second and 4 after an incomplete pass for the Miners. Nevada Union gets some yardage on a trap play to the nine yard line. 1st and goal.

After two downs it’s third down and 14. Pioneer QB throws an incomplete pass for their own three and out.

Coach Dennis Houlihan: “Against Lincoln they played really hard and made plays. We struggled a little bit on defense. But that’s what we’re working on right now… I was heartbroken on that one, I thought it was a team we should have beat.”
